25 players teed it up at White Oaks on Friday and a lot of low numbers hit the scoreboard. Leading the way was Mitch Primas, GM and golf professional at White Oaks, as he combined nines of 34 for a 3 under par 68 and first place gross in the Open division....best score of the day. In the Senior division (ages 50 to 65) the Juniata GC in Philly was well represented as Tito Diaz carded a great round of 74 and bested Centerton's Gary Peart by two shots. Dave Jacobson from Medford Village GC shot 76 and finished first in the Super Senior division (ages 65 & up) gross, two strokes ahead of Moorestown Field Club linkster, Jon Mabry. Mitch Primas and Tito Diaz both doubled down by winning the closest to the pin contests in their respective divisions. The Philadelphia team continued the winning streak as Miguel DeJesus hit the closest par three shot on hole #8...11'...and won the Super Senior CTP money. Very good golf played on the challenging and interesting White Oaks layout. Looking forward to the next pre-season event and it's a two-person scramble at the Centerton Golf Club on Friday 9/20 with a 10:00am shotgun start. Non AWGL members are welcome to play and the annual fee is waived. All we need is a verifiable handicap. Also, those players may join the AWGL at the lower member rate.
