The results of event #2 are in the book and Ron Jaworski’s  Valleybrook Golf Club provided a very interesting and enjoyable venue for the winter leaguers. Not too cold, but the chilly winds made the course fairly testy and the players responded with some good numbers. Professional, Larry Silk, golf instructor at Ron’s Golf Hospital in Northfield made the money list for the second week in a row with a first place finish in Open division gross. His 77 beat Pennsauken’s Joe Casey by a single stroke. Joe came back with a shot that stopped 1’ 11” from the cup on hole #5 for the closest to pin win. Recently retired from Woodcrest CC, PGA pro Bill Torlucci took Open net with 72….topping Centerton GC pro, Chad Cerino’s 73. The Centerton gang continued their winning ways as Gary Peart carded a gross 77 and in a playoff of cards, beat Juniata’s John Blackmon, who also shot 77. These Senior division players tied with handicaps of five and on the first extra hole Gary’s 4 beat John’s 5. Tom Faro from John F. Byrne GC in Philly lead the Senior net category with a 3 under par 68. The best score of the day was posted in the Super Senior division and first place gross went to Mercer Oaks player, Tom Dicinti, who combined nines of 36 – 34 for a one under par 70. Super Senior net was taken by one of “Philly’s Finest” as retired police officer, John Colarette carded a nice 83 to go with his 15 handicap for the winning 68. John made it a double win with a shot 6’ 6” away from the flag on hole #15 for CTP money. Gary Peart also added to his day’s winnings with the best shot on hole #11 for closest to pin.

Many of you guys knew brother, Dick and the National PGA is doing a tribute to him this coming Wednesday morning 9:00AM Eastern time. Access; http://www.pga.org

A big thank you to Valleybrook’s PGA pro, Brad Miller as he and his great staff provided us with a most enjoyable day of golf and camaraderie afterwards in Riley’s Pub. All the “Jaws” facilities are very well managed. Next week we head to Shore Gate “Down the Shore” and Greg advised me that the course is in fantastic shape and they are looking forward to our visit. Please text/email me with your plans to play or not, so I can get a head start on the tee sheet. Looking forward to seeing everyone at Shore Gate and please…..Travel Safe!
