Just picked up the gift cards from White Oaks and thanked Mitch Primas again for bailing us out of bad situation. 32 players toured the interesting White Oaks layout and the scoreboard was lit up with some very good numbers. Low gross in the Open division went to our host professional, as Mitch posted a nice round of 73. Rich Wade tied him and with his 7 handicap the resulting 66 was good for Open low net. Playing out of Running Deer, Dave Newkirk’s card featured three 2’s and two of them were good for skins. Mitch doubled down with two skins also.

The Senior division saw the lowest round of the day and it was shot by Exton, PA am, Dave West.his fourth gross win of the season.  Dave’s 71 was one stroke better than Jim Babst from Five Ponds GC in Warminster, PA. who carded a 72. Jim made it a triple play in the prize pool with two skins and a closest to pin on hole #12….his shot stopping 2’ 3” from the flagstick. This Philly fireman was hot. Don Hinkle from the Centerton GC had his best round of the year with an 81 and coupled with his 16 handicap he took senior low net with 65. Closest to pin on hole #4 went Gary Peart as the long hitter from Centerton nailed to 3’ 10”. Definitely some sharpshooters at work.

Centerton’s Steve Wolbert got out of the sick bed and paired nines of 41 & 36 for a Super Senior gross win at 77. Great playing by Dennis Starr from Pennsauken CC as he put up a gross 84 to go with his 20 handicap for the win in SS net. Given the very wet conditions, the scores turned in were quite good and I received many thumbs up on the nice White Oaks golf course.

Looking ahead to our next event…#13…at Linwood CC, the weather forecast looks pretty good and I’m expecting a big turnout. Please text/email me at the numbers below if you are planning to play. Also, going to attend the memorial/funeral for Homie Perkins on Monday and will express respects from the AWGL as Homie was a longtime member. Looking forward to seeing everyone at Linwood next Friday and please…..Travel Safe.
